Small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) have long believed they’re too small to be a juicy target for cybercriminals. On the contrary, they’re often seen as prime targets; large enough to store valuable data, but small enough to lack the critical cyber defense resources that could prevent an attack.
To get a sense of how UK-based businesses are responding to a changing threat landscape, Webroot teamed up with the London-based Harvard PR firm to conduct a survey on what SMBs consider their biggest threats, challenges, and opportunities.
Findings from the report include:
-
46% of SMBs say a data breach/cyberattack could put them out of business
-
18% of SMBs’ time (almost a full working day a week) is spent on cybersecurity tasks
-
64% say high workload demands result in mistakes that put the business at risk
